BIM-based automated design of drainage systems for panelized residential buildings

The development of building information modelling has facilitated the improvement cost and time management in panelized construction. This research proposes an automated method to design draft drainage systems BIM environment. proposed can improve efficiency, eliminate errors, reduce material waste. In order production efficiency at construction plant, pipe network is separated into smaller components geometric boundaries plumbing panel which a floor or wall through pipes pass. Meanwhile, bill materials for each generated purpose further cutting optimization. A prototyped extension application, add-on Autodesk Revit, developed as proof concept. case study residential system optimization presented illustrate feasibility framework. As key contribution this research, integration model with system, rule-based route planning approach, optimal stock algorithm achieves automation context efficiency.
